How we met

We first met in April 2023 during a time trial with Wekenrun, a running team founded by Coach Ken Mendola. We were both training for our own marathons that year, often catching glimpses of each other during speed sessions at Filinvest. At first, it was just friendly nods between two runners chasing their goals — until fate decided to pick up the pace.

Our story truly began when I (Chynna) asked Ralph for help in choosing my race shoes — the Adios Pro 3 (hence the cursor 😉). Along with Coach Ken and Karla, we met Ralph at Adidas, got the shoes, and ended the day with dinner. That night, something clicked. Sparks flew — and not just from our strides.

Fast forward to

What began as shared miles soon turned into shared moments. During our trip to Taipei for the Taipei Marathon, we ran side by side for a few kilometers, unaware that those steps would lead us somewhere far more meaningful. Conversations continued long after the race, and on the day after Christmas, we went on our first date. From that moment on, we were inseparable.

The proposal

To celebrate our first anniversary, we flew to Hanoi, Vietnam — a trip that would become more unforgettable than we ever imagined. As part of our adventure, we traveled to Sapa to climb Mt. Fansipan, the “Roof of Indochina.” The night before our ascent, under the cool mountain air and the quiet glow of the balcony overlooking a rose garden, Ralph got down on one knee and proposed. It was simple, heartfelt, and perfectly us — just the two of us, no crowd, no grand spectacle. He remembered exactly what I wanted: an intimate moment that was ours alone.
